The corn pops when there is intense heat.

The heat is the only way in which the corn can be made edible. Sometimes we add a bit of colour to give it a twist but sugar or salt is necessary to give it the taste. However, with the ready made microwave popcorn, the only thing you need to do is to apply the heat in order for it to pop.

Now as believers of Jesus Christ, we have already been made for greatness. You have been programmed in the womb of time to be great and to accomplish a purpose.

Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you before I formed you in your
mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you
apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
– NLT

We are the branch and Jesus is the vine (John 15:5), we are the seeds that came out of Jesus Christ and this seed is one that is set for greatness. Now the ministry of Jesus sprang up when the Holy Spirit came upon Him. In effect, the seed can only become great or beneficial when the Holy Spirit forms a major part of it.

Similarly, the heat represents the Holy Spirit whom we need to fuel us into our greatness. We need the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn in us so that we can exhibit that greatness.

This means you can’t pop out if the Holy Spirit is not an integral part of your life. It is only when he plays a crucial role in your life that you can pop out. And the only thing you need to do is to yield to and obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit

Psalm 25:4
“Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.” – NLT

Can we stop resisting the heat and allow the Holy Spirit to work with and in us to channel out that greatness for the glory of God?
