Yielded Vessels
2 Corinthians 4:7
“But we have this treasure in
earthen vessels, that the excellence
of the power may be of God and not of us.”
– NKJV
Have you ever wondered if the pot determines the particular plant or flower that is put into it? Does the pot tell the potter to design it in a particular way? What about the potter? Does he design the pots just because he feels like it or because he wants it to serve a particular purpose? So although it seems like all the pots look the same, they all have a purpose to fulfill. Are you the pot telling the potter where to place it and how to design it? Or are you the pot that believes and trusts that the potter has good plans for it? I believe a lot of us do that. We seem to dictate to the potter and advise him on how we should be made and where we should be placed.
I had a revelation where the Holy Spirit showed me a big room with many pots/vessels lined up. Very huge ones and they all looked the same. But they were very dirty and dusty for the place. Because the room was so neat and beautiful it was not possible for such pots/vessels to be placed there. I saw a couple of angels busy cleaning up the pots/vessels. The more they cleaned, the more beautiful they looked. And as they cleaned, I could tell that the pots/vessels were made from gold: very shiny and very attractive.
After the pot/vessel is cleaned, it is filled with soil and then a seed is placed in the soil. Then, there are angels ready to carry the pot/vessel out of that big room. There were many angels moving in different directions transporting the different pots/vessels to their location. It was just like how the mailman delivers letters to different destinations. There were different flags I saw in the revelation, which represented the different countries in the world. Although the pots/vessels were similar, they were being transported to different locations.
The pots/vessels are transported and placed in front of different houses and there they receive sunshine and rain in order for the seed to grow. Initially, the seed does not start to grow, and this gives people passing by the right to condemn the pot/vessel. Yet what they do not see is that, with time, after receiving constant sunshine and rainfall, the seed begins to sprout up. It grows into a beautiful plant or flower that everyone who passes by admires.
Interpretation
The pot represents us; human beings and the potter is God Our father
Isaiah 64:8
“Yet, O Lord, You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our Potter,
And we all are the work of Your hand”
– AMP
The big room where the pots have been lined up represent the presence of God while the dirty pots represent how sinful we were. But the angels cleaning the pots represent the saving GRACE that is available to us after we come to accept Jesus Christ. So, we are made of clay or dust just as the scriptures reveal.
Genesis 2:7
“then the Lord God [a]formed
[that is, created the body of]
man from the [b]dust of the
ground, and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life; and
the man became a living being
[an individual complete in body
and spirit]”
– AMP
This explains why He is the Potter. What do Potters do? They make pots using clay and their hands and the pots made serve a particular purpose here on earth. So if God made us in His own image and likeness, that means He has a particular purpose for you (the Vessel or the Pot).
The pots/vessels made of Gold represents how God has made us worthy before Him and all the earth. Gold represents wealth, power and status and that power is God’s Word which dwells in us richly.
Ephesians 6:17
“And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the Word of God”
– AMP
The soil placed in the pot/vessel is the Holy Spirit that dwells in us once we invite him in. For every plant to grow or thrive well it needs soil, and this concept applies to Christians. If we want to thrive well on this earth, then we need the Holy Spirit living in us. The seed placed in the soil represents the gift of the Holy Spirit which has been given to you to equip you for the work.
Ephesians 4:11 -13
“Now these are the gifts Christ
gave to the church: the apostles,
the prophets, the evangelists,
and the pastors and teachers.
Their responsibility is to equip
God’s people to do his work and
build up the church, the body of
Christ. This will continue until we
all come to such unity in our faith
and knowledge of God’s Son that
we will be mature in the Lord,
measuring up to the full and
complete standard of Christ.”
– NLT
The vessels/pots that were transported represents the angels and destiny helpers God brings our way while on this earth. The mailman explains how there are certain individuals on this earth whom God has selected to be of help to you as you fulfill your purpose here on earth. So the destiny helpers or angels are not limited by your geographical location but they are everywhere, ready to help once we accept to be a vessel for God. This also shows how God uses us no matter where we find ourselves on earth. The pots/vessels are then placed in front of a house and this represents the Church. Once you have become a vessel for God, you are working in His house, which is His Church. The Church is Christ.
Colossians 1:18
“He is also the head
[the life-source and leader]
of the body, the [e]church;
and He is the beginning,
[f]the firstborn from the dead,
so that He Himself will occupy
the first place [He will stand supreme
and be preeminent] in everything.”
– AMP
Once we are placed in front of the house we are placed in His church to serve with the seed or gift he planted in us.
The seed requires sunlight and water in order to grow and this represents the fire and refreshing water of the Holy Spirit. The fire and refreshing water of the Holy Spirit should continue to burn in us and fill us up so that that seed or gift can grow. And once YOU CONTINUE TO REMAIN in Christ that is when the seed grows to become fruitful.
John 15: 5
“Yes, I am the vine; you are
the branches.Those who remain
in me, and I in them, will produce
much fruit, for apart from
me you can do nothing.”
– NLT
As Christians, once you decide to yield yourselves to God, there will be condemnations and withdrawals from a lot of people. But that should not despair you. Because whenever gold is being refined it passes through fire to become pure. And once we are pots made of gold, we need to go through some stage of pruning and fire before we come out as fruitful
John 15:2
“He cuts off every branch of mine
that doesn’t produce fruit, and he
prunes the branches that do bear
fruit so they will produce even more.”
– NLT
Once we become fruitful, it pleases and brings glory to Our Father in heaven and He Grants us our hearts desires.
John 15: 7-8
“But if you remain in me
and my words remain in you,
you may ask for anything you
want, and it will be granted!
When you produce much fruit,
you are my true disciples, this
brings great glory to my Father.”
– NLT
Once God the Father made us, we are automatically a vessel for Him to use for His Glory. Many of us have decided to be our own Potters and we make our own decisions without seeking first the one who created us. We are not yielding ourselves to Him to be used but rather dictating to Him, the way we want to live our lives. We all have a purpose to fulfill on this earth and that purpose can only be identified when we surrender ourselves to Our Creator and Maker. He is the reason why you have short hands or even long legs. He put those long legs or short hands there because He needs them to fulfill a particular purpose. Nothing you have is by mistake but rather it is for a purpose.
And once we want to find that purpose then we need to go back to the one who created us who can show us that purpose for His glorification. That purpose will only be shown once we have yielded to His voice and His plans for our lives. There are gifts that have been placed in each and every one of us. Those gifts need to be activated to do God’s work. God needs you to use that gift you have to draw someone else into His kingdom. But many of us have become comfortable with what we have forgetting that we carry and hold so much power in us. Others have discovered their gifts yet they are not using it to its full capacity. You can only use your gifts to that full capacity when you have the Holy Spirit working through you. You are only a VESSEL. It is not by your might or strength but it’s by the power working through you. We do not want to get to heaven then realize how much power we could have used to do Gods work.
He has given dominion and so much power to us that we need to wake up and walk in that power as Christians. I do not want to be the reason why someone could not hear the Gospel and be saved just like I was. I do not want to disappoint God nor grieve the Holy Spirit. I need you to do the same and surrender all to Him so you can be a YIELDED VESSEL for Him.
Ask yourself this question, “ARE YOU A YIELDED VESSEL FOR GOD?”
